The objective of The Company Plan is twofold. First, it is intended to be a goal for the company’s growth and success, and a guide for every family to understand their role in its achievement for a secure future for everyone. Second, is to generate the maximum productivity and profitability possible from every team member.
This plan will create a business culture when properly implemented; that most companies do not even know exist.
It will provide unlimited growth, success and profits.
The Company Plan is developed in six stages.
1st Stage: The owner outlines, in one year segments, the dollar volume they want to achieve in the next ten years. They will determine how many people and in what positions it will require to attain their goals.
2nd Stage: Holding a company meeting to determine the company’s overall strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This information will be used to address any issues that may interfere with the achievement of The Company Plan.
3rd Stage: Holding a meeting where all personnel and their spouse, partner,...attend. This meeting is called, “Life, People, Business … it’s all about balance.” This training has several individual development purposes. It will also let the employees and their families know that the company leadership cares about each of them enough to invest in life skill training.
It is designed to help everyone attending understand that their life’s success, happiness and financial security will all be determined by their commitment and willingness to work on themselves and make the necessary changes for growth and improvement.
4th Stage: Immediately following the “Life, People, Business” session a meeting with the same attendees will be held to introduce The Company Plan. Each family present will be given a copy of the outlined plan to go over in the meeting.
The Company Plan is designed to answer the following questions:
What is the Plan? (Which means, where is the company going?)
What is my role and responsibility to the plan? (Which means, what do I need to do?)
What is in it for me and my future? (Which means, why should I stay and work here?)
In three months there will be another meeting to review the following question:
"How are we doing on the plan?" (Which means, is my future secure here?)
In six months each person will meet with their leader to answer the following question: How am I doing on the plan? (Which means, does my contribution count, am I making a difference, how can I do better.)
5th Stage: The first three month meeting. This is for every employee and their spouse, partner, etc. and is scheduled to report on; “How are we doing on the plan?” There should be a minimum of a month notice of the meeting so that everyone can make necessary arrangements to attend. This meeting will be held every three months.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform every family of the status of The Company Plan. It is a time to review successes, discuss any areas needing improvements, and reestablish any necessary goals or commitments.
This is also a great time for any special recognition of people or departments that have excelled. Sometimes it may be as simple as acknowledging an employee who came to work every day on time with a good attitude since the last meeting. It is also a good time to announce the date for the next meeting.
One of the most important things that can be done at this meeting is to discuss any individual’s personal or family growth. Find out what people are reading or listening to or any goals they have achieved or set that has benefitted their family or them personally and allow them to share with the group. This is a time for the leadership to lead out as an example of how they are working on themselves to encourage others. Some goals should have been set from the “Life, People, Business…" class.
Remember, this plan will be achieved and exceeded at the pace of the personal growth of each individual.
6th Stage: Tthe six-month one-on-one employee review with their leader and should be scheduled every six month following. This meeting is to answer the question: How am I doing on the plan? This is to be a regularly scheduled review to discuss the employee’s contribution to The Company Plan. Discuss any agreed upon commitments or assigned responsibilities. Express appreciation and give recognition for accomplishments. Discuss any areas needing improvement for growth or additional training needs.
This review is not a hall way or a by the way meeting. This is not a meeting to discuss money increases; it is specific to your plan and the team member.
Additional meetings for company personnel should be held on a regular basis, usually monthly, to put plans and programs in place to turn weaknesses into strengths. Select from the Weaknesses Section of your Tactical Plan Guide and Support Manual, areas that the company will focus on specifically for a period of time. Everyone should always be aware and involved in the things that need to change for improvements and growth to take place.
This is an overview of the main function and purpose of the relationship between your business and The People Company. Your greatest achievements and highest profits will come from the ongoing personal and skill development of your people. For a company to achieve and maintain a consistent growth in volume and profit, they must train the whole person.
